Eight Escape Southeast Fort Wayne House Fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Firefighters battled a house fire in southeast Fort Wayne at about 8:30 Friday morning. 

The fire on Devonshire Drive north of the Hessen Cassel and Paulding intersection started in the rear of the house. 

It took firefighters 16 minutes to bring the fire under control and contain it to the kitchen. 

All eight people in the home was able to get out unharmed and are being helped by the Red Cross. 

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
