INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Authorities in Indianapolis are investigating the beating death of an 88-year-old woman with dementia.
The Indianapolis Star reports Ruth Rainsberger's 56-year-old son found his mother Tuesday with a bloody wound to her head. She died Wednesday at Wishard Memorial Hospital.
A Marion County coroner's report says she died of several “blunt force trauma injuries to the head.” Her death was ruled a homicide.
An upstairs neighbor told police he did not hear any disturbances.
Police spokesman Kendale Adams said no arrests had been made.
