Elderly Woman with Dementia Fatally Beaten in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Authorities in Indianapolis are investigating the beating death of an 88-year-old woman with dementia.
 
The Indianapolis Star reports Ruth Rainsberger's 56-year-old son found his mother Tuesday with a bloody wound to her head. She died Wednesday at Wishard Memorial Hospital. 
 
A Marion County coroner's report says she died of several “blunt force trauma injuries to the head.” Her death was ruled a homicide. 
 
An upstairs neighbor told police he did not hear any disturbances.
 
Police spokesman Kendale Adams said no arrests had been made.
