Expansions to Come to Maplecrest Road

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Major expansion will happen to a northeastern Fort Wayne road. The Board of Public Works approved over $12 million in contracts yesterday for work on sections of Maplecrest Road to expand it to four lanes. $4.6 million will go toward widening the road between Lake Avenue and State Boulevard. According to the Journal Gazette, $8.15 million will go toward the part between State Boulevard and Stellhorn Road and will include design of the construction. Construction is expected to start in 2017. 80 percent of the money for the contracts will come from the federal government.
