INDIANA (WOWO): Low gas prices and Labor Day is the perfect recipe for busy roadways.

AAA says 55 percent of all Americans will hit the highways for the final weekend of summer. The Indiana Department of Transportation is even pausing the majority of construction projects to help with traffic.

Indiana State Police officers will be out in full force over the weekend. They’ll be performing sobriety checkpoints as part of the department’s Dive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

All Indiana BMV offices will be closed Saturday through Monday because of the holiday weekend. Banks, U.S. Postal Offices and the Hoosier Lottery offices will also be closed Monday.
