Expert: No Easy Answers to Mass Killings

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities are still trying to piece together just what happened yesterday in San Bernardino, CA, after a man and his wife shot and killed 14 and injured 17 others.

Indiana Security expert Peter Beerling tells WOWO News authorities will take a multi-faceted approach to this case:

“There certainly will be a lot of people trying to come up with a one-dimensional solution. Unfortunately, this defies a simple solution. Stopping one person, or a small group of people, is very difficult, and the good guys have to get it right every single time, while the bad guys only have to get it right once.”

The killers, 28-year-old Syed Farook and 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik, were killed in a shootout with police. According to the Washington Post, this marks the 352nd mass shooting in the US this year.
