Head-On Crash on I-69 in Allen County Injures Two

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana State Police officers are investigating a head-on crash that occurred on southbound I-69 around the 297 mile marker, in front of the General Motors plant. The Thursday afternoon crash sent both drivers to a local hospital.

Police say that around 12:15 p.m., a truck driven by 32-year-old Joey Hinton, from Ossian, was traveling northbound on the entrance ramp for northbound I-69 from I-469.

For an unknown reason, Hinton's vehicle traveled across the northbound lanes of I-69, through the median, and into the southbound lanes of I-69. It struck a vehicle that was traveling in a passing lane. Both Hinton and the driver of the other vehicle, 24-year-old Ashlee Williams, from Markle were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The southbound lanes of I-69 were closed for approximately one and one half hours while the scene was being investigated.
