Preliminary ISTEP Results Released

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): This year's preliminary A-F accountability grades for schools throughout Indiana have been released… but not to the public, at least not yet.

That's because these scores could go up, depending on how the appeals process goes, due to changes and problems with the ISTEP test that ended up with some students doing significantly worse than they would have before. State Superintendent Glenda Ritz, who wants schools held harmless on the grades, says the data should lead to some good discussions on the topic.

Governor Mike Pence is asking the State Board of Education for a one-year reprieve for schools affected negatively by the grades.
