Fatal Crash in Miami County

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Miami County last night. A preliminary investigation shows that around 7:30 P.M., a truck driven by 33-year-old Terry Houseman, of Upland, was traveling west on SR 18, east of CR 950 East. For an unknown reason, Houseman's vehicle went left of center and hit an eastbound semi pulling a trailer. According to police, it appears Houseman was not wearing a seatbelt and was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver, 50-year-old Richard Hickey, from Hartford City, was uninjured. It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor or not. The crash is still under investigation.
