FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A vacant house went up in flames on Fort Wayne’s southeast side early this morning.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to a home on Alexander Street near East Pontiac at about 2:37am. When they arrived they found flames bursting through the home’s roof and attic.

The fire was so intense it started melting the siding on a house next door. Crews were able to save the neighbor’s house without additional damage, but the first house’s roof had completely burned off before the fire was brought under control.

Nobody was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
