Fort Wayne Fire Department Responds To Large Fire East Of Downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a large fire Tuesday afternoon east of downtown Fort Wayne.

According to our partners in news at 21ALIVE, crews were dispatched around 2:15 p.m. to the 2600 block of East Washington Boulevard, near the OmniSource facility. Multiple fire units were seen at the scene as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

Heavy smoke was visible in the area, prompting an active response from emergency crews. No immediate information was available regarding injuries, the cause of the fire, or the extent of the damage.
