FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): For the first time in Fort Wayne International Airport’s 75 year history, passengers can fly non-stop from Fort Wayne to New York.
Starting Wednesday, Sept. 7, United Airlines will offer daily flights to Newark Liberty International Airport seven days a week, according to the Fort Wayne International Airport.
The morning flights will depart at 6 a.m. and will arrive in New York at 7:53 a.m. Departing flights will be at 7:59 p.m. and will arrive in Fort Wayne at 9:59 p.m.
“As a region northeast Indiana sought service to a large hub on the East Coast of the United States, and this new service to Newark is the direct result of the collaboration, positivity and perseverance that our community embodies,” Executive Director of Airports for the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority Scott Hinderman said.
