Fort Wayne Man Arrested for 22-Year-Old Murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It took more than two decades, but an arrest has been made in the murder of a Fort Wayne man.

Police arrested 55-year-old Richard Niemeyer Sunday, according to the Journal-Gazette. Police believe he beat  20-year-old Kevin Weisenburger to death in an apartment on Fairfield Avenue in May 1993. His body was found by his roommate 10 to 12 hours after his death.

There's no word yet on what connected Niemeyer to the crime, but a police spokesman says Niemeyer knew the charges were coming.
