Fort Wayne Man Wins Hoosier Lottery

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO):  Larry Stoner of Fort Wayne is the grand prize winner in a recent Hoosier Lottery second-chance drawing. Stoner claimed a $500,000 prize at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters yesterday.

Stoner and his wife Nancy plan to write a check to each of their four grown children and gift some to a couple institutions near to their heart: Indiana University and Riley Children’s Hospital.

“We already give a fair amount,” said Larry Stoner.  “We can give a little bit more now.”

With retirement not too far down the road, the couple also plans to put a chunk in the bank. Larry Stoner has worked as a patent illustrator for 49 years. Nancy works in quality assurance for a medical software company.

Larry characterized the win as “a good deal.” Nancy‘s take on Larry’s good fortune is a little more humorous. While she agrees that winning half a million dollars is a big deal, she ranks it as the second luckiest thing that ever happened to Larry.

“He is the luckiest,” said Nancy Stoner, adding with a laugh, “he knows I am the luckiest thing that ever happened to him.
