FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Meth Suppression Team and the Indiana State Police arrested a man and a woman after a tip led them to the Knights Inn on Goshen Road Monday.

Police say they investigated a room they’d been told about and found drug paraphernalia, 1.6 grams of crystal meth, 1.5 grams of marijuana and some syringes.

33-year-old Sandy Marie Smith of Fort Wayne and 35-year-old Glenn Edward Becker Jr. of Kendalville were arrested on drug charges. The investigation is ongoing.

Also Monday, police served a search warrant at a home on McKinnie Avenue on the city’s south side in an investigation into heroin sales and use, arresting 34-year-old David Edward Goings and 42-year-old Chris McCue.

A fatal overdose had occurred at that location on January 14th of this year, and another overdose was reported at the address five days ago. Police found heroin and more than $3,000 in cash.
