Fort Wayne police find evidence of dog fighting inside house

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Three people were arrested after police say they found evidence of dog fighting and drugs inside a Fort Wayne house.

Maurice Sewell was arrested and preliminary charged with dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, animal fighting contests, possession of animal fighting paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and possession of marijuana.

Leslie Anne Dennis was arrested and preliminary charged with dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department. 

Stanley Bristow was arrested and preliminary charged with maintaining a common nuisance.

At about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, the Fort Wayne Police Department Emergency Services Team and Detectives of the Vice and Narcotics Division served a search warrant in the 2300 block of 25th Avenue.

During the search, police found evidence of dog fighting and four pit bulls. The Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control removed the dogs from the house. One dog had extensive scaring around its head.

Sewell was at the house when the search warrant was executed. He tried to swallow cocaine and marijuana, which was later recovered. Crews also found three firearms inside the house.
