Fort Wayne sees crime increase in first quarter of 2016

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Criminals in Fort Wayne have been busy this year.

The Fort Wayne Police Department has been dealing with an uptick of crime across the board.

Our partners in news at 21Alive report that between January and April of this year crime saw a 16% increase citywide, with the city’s southeast side reporting the biggest jump in crime with a 24% increase.

The crimes range from burglaries, vandalisms and robberies to 13 homicides so far this year, all of which were shootings.
