FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Urban League will be celebrating another year of service to the community with a special event at the Grand Wayne Center Saturday night.

The theme, “100 Year March Toward Economic Empowerment,” reflects the group’s efforts toward promoting a better quality of life, for not just people of color but also the disadvantaged and economically challenged of all races, since the group was founded in 1920.

The event will include a new League President and CEO, Dr. Cosette Grant-Overton, as well as the 2018 Thurgood Marshall Leadership Awards.

The Gala is set to run from 6p to 10pm, and the entire community is invited. Contact the Fort Wayne Urban League at (260) 745-3100 for more information.
