Fort Wayne Weekly Gas Prices

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Gasoline prices in Fort Wayne dropped almost twenty cents last week.

The latest report from GasBuddy pegs the current average price of a gallon of gas at $1.91 after surveying 201 area gas stations.

That’s a drop of 19.6 cents in the past week, according to senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan, who says almost every state saw a drop in gas prices last week due to crude oil prices approaching their lowest level of the summer.

“As air temperatures across the country rise to sweltering levels, gas prices have continued to cool,” said Patrick DeHaan. “Not only are gas prices nationally at their lowest level of the summer, but they have continued to decline as the glut of oil and refined products has persisted.”

The national average price of a gallon of gas dropped 4.5 cents to $2.15 a gallon last week. DeHaan expects the national average to be below $2 per gallon by Halloween, as long as there aren’t any major disruptions.
