FW City Council Approves Budget Despite Controversy

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Despite strong efforts by the Fort Wayne Firefighters Union, Fort Wayne City Council has approved next year's budget.

The 2014 budget will include millions of dollars to hire new firefighters, that according to our partners in news at 21 Alive. However, Jeremy Bush, president of the Fort Wayne Professionals Firefighters Union, says, “What everyone is missing is that they're (City Council) decreasing the minimum manning level per day starting January 1, 2014 to 91 firefighters per day instead of 96.”  Bush is concerned that this will compromise the safety of the public.
