FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A big upgrade is coming for Fort Wayne Community Schools' athletic equipment. 

The school district will soon receive over $170,000 to make upgrades, thanks to Parkview Sports Medicine, the NFL foundation and the Catie B. Circle of Care. 

Our partners in news at 21 Alive report that six middle schools and four high schools will be getting new or reconditioned equipment, in an effort that officials say will make playing high school sports safer.
