Anonymous Donor Offers Reward for Info in Mutilated Cat Case

AUBURN, Ind. (AP) _ A reward is being offered for information in the mutilation of a cat in northeastern Indiana.

The Auburn Star reported Thursday the $500 reward was posted by an anonymous donor for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever's responsible for the mutilation of the cat named Carrot.

Auburn police say someone sliced off part of Carrot's tongue on August 30th, then placed the severed portion of the tongue on a windowsill for cat owner Nicole Hart to find.

Hart says the cat is healing. She says Carrot has to drink kitten formula from a bottle and water from a syringe, and eat wet food. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help cover the cat's medical expenses.
