FWCS Stops Student-Planned Tribute to Shooting Victim

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Students at Snider High School wanting to honor a slain Concordia Lutheran student have been shut down by Fort Wayne Community Schools officials.

Students were planning a “white out,” where they would all wear white at tonight's football game between the two schools to honor 17-year-old Alonna Allison, who was murdered in a shooting last weekend… but the school district has told them not to do so.

FWCS officials tell our partners in news at 21Alive that while they appreciate the students' compassion, they don't encourage memorial attire because it can cause “disruptions.”

FWCS Spokeswoman Krista Stockman issued the following statement to WOWO News: We appreciate the compassion of our students and are proud of their desire to see peace in our city. During the school day, we are following our Code of Conduct, which states memorial shirts are not allowed. Students are allowed to wear shirts of any color they choose.”

Concordia students are still planning their side of the “white out.”
