Gay Married Couples Could Pay More for Tax Filings

A new federal tax policy recognizing gay marriages was introduced after the Supreme Court struck down sections of the Defense of Marriage Act. Indiana was on track to follow suit until Republican Sen. Brandt Hershman of Buck Creek made a late-session change that would prevent the state from adopting the provision.
