GM Foundation Aids Local Non-Profits

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More than a dozen area organizations are receiving more than $131,000 in grants from the General Motors Foundation.

In ceremony Thursday, the foundation earmarked $50,000 for United of Allen County. Arts United and Junior Achievement received checks for $10,000 each. A total of 13 local groups received grants.

The Plant City Grants are given annually in 45 communities around the United States. In 2015, officials say about they'll donate $2 million nationally.

YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne $4,000
