Governor Holcomb Issues Statement On Action Being Taken Surrounding Toxic Waste Sent To Hoosier State

Indiana’s Governor has issued a statement in regards to action being taken on the toxic waste from the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment being brought to Indiana.  On Thursday, Governor Eric Holcomb announced that he had directed his administration to contract with 3rd party provider, Pace Labs to immediately conduct testing of the hazardous materials being shipped from the East Palestine train derailment to an Indiana facility.

In a statement, Holcomb once again reiterated that he was extremely disappointed to learn through a press conference that the EPA had chosen Indiana as a location to deposit and remediate the waste from East Palestine. Holcomb went on to say that everything should be done possible to provide assurance to the safety of the surrounding communities in the Hoosier state.

Here is Holcomb’s full statement:

“Effective immediately, I have directed our administration to contract with a nationally recognized
laboratory to begin rigorous 3rd party testing for dangerous levels of dioxins on the material being transported to the Roachdale facility from the East Palestine train spill.

As I indicated in an earlier statement, it was extremely disappointing to learn through a press conference held on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, confirming that the EPA had chosen Indiana as a location to deposit and remediate the waste from East Palestine, Ohio. This was made after our administration directly conveyed that the materials should go to the nearest facilities, not moved from the far eastern side of Ohio to the far western side of Indiana. As you can expect, I expressed as much to the EPA administrator when we spoke on the phone Tuesday, Feb. 28.

All of us can agree that we should do everything within our control to provide assurance to our communities. This testing is the next necessary step. Since making this decision, we have informed the EPA and the site operator urging them to coordinate closely with this 3rd party laboratory to carry out this important testing. Sampling is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Friday, March 3,” Gov. Holcomb said.

I don’t agree with anything Dopey Prince Eric the Chinless Wonder of Hoosierville says. Why have a fu;l;y licensed and approved toxic waste disposal landfill in Indiana if not to deposit toxic waste. Who cares where it comes from. Is the waste from Ohio any more toxic than any other waste that gets put in the toxic waste landfill located in Putnam county? This clown is just virtue signalling so he can run for another high office he is not qualified to hold. Wake Up Hoosiers. Ignore this guy. He kept the Covid emergency going long after it was evident the whole thing was a Fraudci farce. Now he pushes for unbelievable amounts of tax dollars to create a health system more like Red China than a free American Republic. You will be sorry when this happens. You and your kids will be forced into medical measures you do not agree with simply because there is a lot of money at the health department. Your local leaders will be bribed to cooperate in schemes that are not the best medical practices. Your doctor will become just a cog in a giant medical malpractice wheel because of this Dope.
