FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Some dangerously strong winds did a number on the area over the weekend.

High winds with gusts of up to 64mph swept through northeast Indiana late Saturday and all day Sunday, blowing down fences, ripping off roofs and billboard signs, and knocking over trees.

As many as 10,000 Indiana Michigan Power customers in northeast Indiana and southwest Michigan lost power Sunday, with around 1,500 customers in the Fort Wayne area affected. There are reportedly still 686 outages in around 42 different cases as of 4am today. The biggest concentration is the area just north of Decatur.
