Holland to honor deceased solider from NE Ind.

WOLCOTTVILLE , Ind. (AP): A soldier from northeast Indiana who died during a World War II battle in Holland will be among 48 soldiers honored when the city of Nijmegen in that country dedicates a new bridge to the memory of 48 soldiers who died in the battle to control a strategic bridge over the Waal River there.

Family members of Norris Case of Wolcottville plan to attend as guests of the Dutch city, along with dozens of relatives of other fallen U.S. soldiers. Nancy Case of Wolcottville, who married Norris Case’s younger brother, says she’s happy her brother-in-law is being recognized.

Norris Case received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart medal, and a memorial stone in a Wolcottville park lists his name.
