INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana House has rejected attempts to amend a bill that would lift Indiana's 80-year-old ban on Sunday carry-out alcohol sales.
 
One proposal narrowly defeated Thursday would have required security caps on bottles of hard liquor. The House defeated by wide margin another amendment that would have continued the Sunday sales ban.
 
The bill would require all grocery stores and pharmacies to keep beer and wine in one designated area of a store, with liquor stored behind the counter. All clerks would have to be 21 or older and have mandated training, and consumers would no longer be able to buy hard liquor through a self-service checkout.
 
The full House could vote on approving the measure as soon as Monday. That would send the bill to the Senate for consideration.
