Howard Johnson Evacuated After 3rd Floor Fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Fire Department was on the scene of a fire this morning  at the Fort Wayne Howard Johnson at Coliseum Blvd. near Coldwater Ave.

The fire department was dispatched at 10:10 a.m. and the building was evacuated.

Jeff Bowman with our Partners in News at 21Alive says the fire started on the 3rd floor above the ceiling tiles. The fire was under control in less than 5 minutes and the fire department is working with code enforcement to determine when the building can reopen.

No word on how the fire started.
