HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): Police in Huntington will soon have a new headquarters.

Chief Chad Hacker tells our Partners in News at ABC 21 it’s time to move:

“We have evidence storage now that’s currently being held at the water department… we have just absolutely outgrown this space.”

When the department first set up shop they had seven officers. Now they’re looking to move into a $4.8-million, two-story, 17,000-square-foot building across the street from their current location.

Contractors will be submitting bids in the near future, with construction set to start this spring.
