Huntington Township Approves New Fire Station

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): Work will begin at the end of May on a new Huntington Township volunteer fire station.

Our partners in news at 21Alive say the township has accepted a bid on the 5,000 square foot facility for the east side of the township.

Currently, that part of Huntington Township is served by four volunteer stations: Markle, Bippus, Andrews, and Mount Etna.

The new facility will cost $344,000 to build, not including two additional fire trucks and new gear for the 17 volunteer firemen.
