Ice Skating Not Safe at Outdoor Ponds

The ice may appear smooth, but it’s actually very dangerous. The recent high winds and low temperatures have produced a very thin, smooth ice on

Lakeside and Ivan Lebamoff Reservoir Park ponds.

The ice looks okay for skaters, but officials at the Parks & Recreation Department warn that the ice isn’t thick enough for safe activity.

Red lights and flags will be displayed at the sites as long as the ice is dangerous.
