IDHS Renews Call for Online Damage Reporting

INDIANA, (WOWO):  The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is continuing to accept online reports from Hoosiers and businesses who sustained damage caused by Sunday’s severe storms.

Damage can be reported at: https://myoracle.in.gov. In the middle of the page under “Featured Topics,” click on “Report Damage from Severe Weather – November 17”.

We want to make sure those that were without power have an opportunity to report their damage. Also, there is particular interest in insurance coverage,” said John Erickson, Senior Public Information Officer with IDHS.

Losses can include structural damage to homes and loss of personal property.

“Please report your damage as soon as possible,” Erickson said. “This first step by citizens helps the entire process move more quickly.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS:

Individuals without Internet access are encouraged to contact a friend, family member or neighbor for assistance. Web access is also available at many libraries, religious institutions, community centers or other public facilities. If none of those options is available, individuals may also contact their county emergency management agency to report damage.
