I&M Adding Solar

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Michigan Power will soon add solar energy. Officials with the power utility say they'll add five facilities including one in Grant County.

The utility company says solar  is becoming more efficient and more becoming more cost-effective to produce. The entire five-station project is estimated to cost about $38 million dollars. The local plant will be built near the current service center in Marion.

The facility will power a few hundred homes, but the company calls it a big first into solar power.
