INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Governor Mike Pence's choice of state Auditor Tim Berry to run the Indiana Republican Party may have had party leaders rejoicing as much because of the candidate's popularity as because of the answers it provided to some key political questions. Berry's broad popularity and long service in the party span ideological and geographical divides in the GOP. Pence's selection also rewards a top Republican fundraiser while likely clearing the possibility of Treasurer Richard Mourdock re-emerging in the 2014 election season.
