Indiana Leaders Promise Transparency Post-Bennett

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indiana's education leaders are learning from the mistakes of former School Superintendent Tony Bennett, starting with the promise to spend more time crafting Indiana's new school grading formula and draft it in the open. Republican Senate President Pro Tem David Long and Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma said the new formula will have to be written in the open to win the trust of the public. A review of Indiana's grading formula found last week that Bennett was under intense pressure to deliver a good grade for the Christel House charter school. The report's authors said their findings neither vindicate nor condemn Bennett.
