INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Prosecutors say the trial for a man who's one of four suspects in a deadly Indianapolis house explosion will likely be delayed until at least mid-2016.

A Marion County judge canceled Gary Thompson's April 6 trial date Wednesday after the 44-year-old man's attorneys sought more time to prepare his defense.

Deputy Prosecutor Denise Robinson says both sides had expected the delay. She tells WISH-TV (http://bit.ly/1NC8kMi ) prosecutors still have to provide Thompson's new attorney with about 40,000 pages of evidence.

Thompson faces arson and other charges in a November 2012 natural-gas explosion that leveled the home of one of his three co-defendants. That explosion killed a man and his wife who lived next door to the home leveled by the blast.

Prosecutors say the explosion was a scheme to collect insurance.
