Indiana Office Distributing $3.4M from Americorps

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indiana’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is giving out $3.4 million in federal grants to 18 groups to hire volunteers. The office announced Wednesday the money will pay for 479 full and part-time jobs with AmeriCorps who will work on issues including poverty, health and education. Volunteers can also qualify for student loan and tuition support.
