Indiana State Librarian Announces Retirement

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana state librarian is retiring to pursue new interests. Roberta Brooker will complete seven years as the state librarian on Dec. 27. She began work at the State Library 25 years ago as a reference librarian. As state librarian she oversaw the external affairs of the library and maintained a 2.5 million-item collection of Indiana and federal materials and one of the largest genealogy collections in the Midwest. The Indiana Library & Historical Board will conduct a nationwide search for Brooker's replacement.
