BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) _ Indiana University Athletic Director Fred Glass says the school has extended its apparel contract with Adidas in a deal worth $53.6 million over eight years.
He tells The Indianapolis Star that the deal will nearly double the athletic clothing company's annual payments to Indiana University from $3.7 million to $6.7 million. The university says the deal is among the five richest publicly known apparel deals in college sports.
Under the new contract, Adidas will provide uniforms for all 24 of the university's varsity teams and a full branding audit to ensure consistency in color and design, especially with the crimson and cream hues.
The current contract with Adidas expires after this academic year and dates back to 2004.
