INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indianapolis International Airport is set to open a new service plaza with a convenience store, gas station and restaurants along the road into the passenger terminal. Airport officials announced Wednesday that the convenience store and 24-pump gas station are scheduled to open in mid-September, followed by two fast-food restaurants opening later this year. These will be the first such businesses on the airport property outside the passenger terminal that opened in 2008. Airport officials have looked at the plaza as a way to serve returning rental-car customers and airport visitors while also raising more revenue. The new plaza will include a display monitor providing information about arriving and departing flights.
