JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An Indianapolis man could face up to 12 years in prison after being convicted of child solicitation in Johnson County.

A jury found 67-year-old Davinder Singh Saini guilty late Thursday night following a three-day trial that extended past midnight because of interpreter scheduling issues.

Prosecutors said Saini attempted to arrange a sexual encounter with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl online.

The case stemmed from a November 2023 sting operation conducted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and the Franklin Police Department.

Authorities arrested Saini after he allegedly traveled to meet the person he believed was a teenage girl.

Sentencing is expected at a later date. Under Indiana law, the conviction carries a potential prison sentence of up to 12 years.
