FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An IPFW official has received the highest honor an Indiana citizen can receive.
Cheryl Truesdell is retiring as dean of the Walter E. Helmke Library at IPFW at the end of the year, capping off a 33-year career with the school, and was named as a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award from Indiana Governor and Vice President-Elect Mike Pence.
The award is conferred upon citizens who have contributed greatly to Hoosier heritage.
Truesdell’s work includes leading a multi-year planning and library renovation project and expanding resource sharing between Indiana libraries.
