LaPorte Resident Accused of Battery and Tattooing Children

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (WOWO) A LaPorte woman has been charged with two felony counts of battery and two misdemeanor counts of tattooing a minor after allegedly forcing two young cousins to smoke marijuana and giving them tattoos.

Allegations against Autumn Timm

Authorities say 22-year-old Autumn Timm allegedly forced an 11-year-old boy into a “smoking circle” at a Michigan City home and would not allow him to leave until he smoked marijuana. Police report that a 12-year-old cousin was later involved in the incident.

Investigators say Timm then tattooed both boys despite their requests to stop because of the pain. Police confirmed that both children later tested positive for marijuana.

Legal proceedings

Timm was assigned a public defender during her initial court hearing. She faces:

  • Two felony counts of battery
  • Two misdemeanor counts of tattooing a minor

Her trial is scheduled to begin in October.

Authorities’ comments

Michigan City Police have not released additional statements about potential additional charges. Investigators are treating the case as ongoing while preparing for the upcoming trial.

Forward-looking steps

Court officials say Timm will appear again for pretrial proceedings in the coming months as the case moves toward the October trial date.
