Local Department Store Closing

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne department store is closing. Sears, the parent company for K-Mart says they will close the South Anthony store by Mid-January.

That's according to our news partners at 21 Alive. In June, Sears and its family of stores announced a $279 million loss in its first quarter this year. The company says they are making the move to adjust to retail trends.

About 70 people are employed at the store. They'll have a chance to relocate to other K-Mart and Sears Stores.  K-Mart has stores on East Coliseum Blvd. and in Huntington, Decatur and Warsaw.
