Man Becomes Violent as Police Escort Him

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Northeastern Indiana police say a man being questioned about a stabbing went berserk as he was being escorted to a hospital and several officers and stun guns were needed to subdue him.

Fort Wayne police spokeswoman Officer Raquel Foster says the man was being questioned Wednesday when a detective became concerned about his strange behavior and summoned other officers to take him to a local hospital for an evaluation.

As several officers were escorting the man in an elevator at police headquarters, the man suddenly became violent and attacked them. Foster says the officers used electrical stun devices multiple times on the man before he was subdued and taken to a local hospital.

Police have not released the name of the man, who hasn’t been charged.
