WOLCOTTVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): Police arrested a Wolcottville man after they say he drove drunk then he tried to break into a car.

Mitchell Baczynski, 39, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated and unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, according to LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office

At about 1:15 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a call about a man breaking into a car at a Lassus gas station in Wolcottville.

When officers arrived, they saw Baczynski walking away from a 2004 Chrysler passenger car. Police found out the car didn’t belong to him and he got into the car by using a coat hanger.

Police learned he was driving 1997 Oldsmobile by viewing the gas station’s video surveillance system.

He had a blood alcohol content of 0.26 percent, the sheriff’s office said, and was booked into LaGrange County Jail.
