FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A three-hour standoff with Fort Wayne police ended with a man taking his own life Thursday night.

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, it all started at about 5:40pm when a man and his wife got into an argument at a home in the 900 block of High Street just northwest of Bloomingdale Park. That argument turned violent when he got a loaded handgun and pointed it at her. She escaped and called police, leading to a standoff where police tried to coax him out of the home.

Eventually they deployed tear gas and flash bang grenades, before sending in a robot equipped with a camera, only to learn he had apparently shot himself.

No names have been released. Nobody else was hurt.
