Man Sentenced to 9 Years for Beating Girlfriend

COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) _ A 28-year-old Columbus man has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison after pleading guilty to beating his pregnant girlfriend and holding a knife to her throat. Daniel Leonard was sentenced yesterday in Bartholomew County. Court documents say Leonard repeatedly beat his girlfriend over a 26-hour period in December 2011.
