Manhunt underway for Garrett shooting suspect (UPDATED)

GARRETT, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana State Police is looking for a “person of interest” related to a fatal shooting that led to a lockout of Garrett Keyser Butler schools in DeKalb County this afternoon.

Sgt. Ron Galaviz of the Indiana State Police tells WOWO News the shooting happened at about 2:15pm inside a home on East 3rd Avenue, near the intersection with South Franklin Street.

KPC News reports that a man’s body was found inside the home.

The investigation led to a lockout of nearby Garrett Middle School and Garrett High School that lasted for a little more than 30 minutes.

Police are looking for 20-year-old Branston Stone Secrest, a white male who is 5’6″ and 145 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen in a gray 2011 Ford Taurus, with Indiana license plate 487MHS. If you see him, call police, but do not approach him. He is considered dangerous.

UPDATE: Secrest was arrested by Fort Wayne police after leading them on a brief chase, according to Galaviz.
